Bazinga — The Big Bang Theory universe is expanding again. HBO Max is developing a new spin-off called Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, and it’s shaping up to be the franchise’s wildest idea yet. Set in the future, the series follows comic book store owner Stuart Bloom, whose mistake with one of Sheldon and Leonard’s inventions sends reality spiraling into multiverse chaos.
Original creators Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady are back, joined by Avengers writer Zack Penn, promising a “radical” new take that pushes far beyond the classic sitcom format. Kevin Sussman returns as Stuart, alongside familiar faces like Denise, Bert, and Barry Kripke.
The biggest question remains: will the original gang return? While nothing is confirmed, Kaley Cuoco has teased that she “can’t confirm or deny” her involvement, and Mayim Bialik has said she’d be open to coming back. With alternate universes in play, surprise cameos feel almost inevitable.
