The Big Bang Theory star recently went viral after sharing how he uses his wealth to quietly help others. In an interview with The i Paper, Nayyar revealed that one of his favorite late-night habits is scrolling through GoFundMe and paying medical bills for families in need.
“Money has given me greater freedom, and the greatest gift is the ability to give back,” Nayyar said. “I really love to go on GoFundMe at night and just pay random families’ medical bills. That’s my masked vigilante thing.”
The actor, who shares his life with wife Neha Kapur, also supports animal charities and privately funds college scholarships for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. According to Fortune, Nayyar’s net worth is estimated at $45 million, thanks largely to his role as Rajesh Koothrappali on the long-running CBS sitcom.
Despite his success, Nayyar believes kindness starts on a personal level. “We’re all waiting for someone else to change the world,” he said. “But no one is going to do that for you. You have to do it yourself.”
Nayyar appeared in all 12 seasons of The Big Bang Theory, which ended in 2019 and later spawned hit spinoffs Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. Since then, he’s continued acting in projects such as Night Court, Spaceman, and Christmas Karma.
