The Chicago Fire cast is incredibly talented when it comes to music. Joe Minoso is a great dancer. Kara Killmer, Hanako Greensmith, and Miranda Rae Mayo are all great singers. So, how does Taylor Kinney (Severide) stack up in this department compared to his on-screen friends? Well, that’s a little unclear. You see, Kinney may be a great singer, but the video we have of him trying to show off his skills is hampered by the one essential meal of the day: lunch.

In a TikTok shared by a Chicago Fire fan account (presumably taken from the set of the show), we see Kinney trying to belt out a tune alongside his on-screen wife, Miranda Rae Mayo. The only problem? He’s munching on his lunch, so there’s no way to detect any musical talent. Because of the food, we can’t read (or should we say listen to) his humming. Watch Kinney attempt to sing while eating snacks here.

This TikTok video of him shaking his hips and winking confirms that he has rhythm. His and Minoso’s combined moves would make for a pretty awesome duet, right? How about we petition the Chicago Fire gods to make that happen on the show?
After all, such silly antics are par for the course for the cast. “There’s a core principle of humor and camaraderie that keeps [us] going; I think that’s what’s really special about our show in particular,” Killmer told NBC Insider in early 2024 when discussing her departure from the show. (She played paramedic Sylvie Brett for 10 years.) Has a sense of humor and also seems capable of putting on a killer singing and dancing act.
