With the Yellowstone prequel series 1923 gearing up to film in Austin and multiple scenes of the original series set in Texas, it’s no wonder two co-stars decided to quietly tie the knot in a beautiful Lone Star State ceremony.
Musician and actor Ryan Bingham and his Yellowstone co-star Hassie Harrison first met on the set of the award-winning television show, but it wasn’t until some gentle nudging from Harrison’s mother that the pair began a romance, according to a May 29 feature from Vogue on the fall 2023 ceremony.
In the Western, Bingham plays Walker, a dashing troubadour who turned to ranch work, while Harrison brings to life Laramie, a barrel racer who ends up falling in love with Bingham’s character. The couple turned that love into a real-life romance in 2023 after Harrison’s mother met Bingham at a Dallas charity event and encouraged him to give her daughter a call.
With Harrison originating from Dallas, the pair decided they wanted to host their nuptials at her family home, they told Vogue. The couple and their families hosted an elegant Western wedding with a blush color palette, a cowboy black tie dress code, and leather and lacy finishes.
Harrison’s wedding dress was a Galia Lahav she found while shopping with her sisters in Dallas, she told Vogue. As for Bingham, the New Mexico-born actor decided on a Kiton tuxedo paired with custom cowboy boots made by Houston bootmaker Republic Boots and a cowboy hat from American Hat Co.
The reception was held in a tent at the front of a house designed to look like Texas’ oldest dance hall — Gruene Hall — complete with communal tables and neon lights against a backdrop of living greenery, Vogue reports.
“Seeing generations from both sides of our families, our friends and especially the children all coming together was such a blessing,” Harrison told Vogue. “And then, there was the moment I locked eyes with Ryan as I walked toward him. Seeing the tears well up in his eyes — it just melted my heart.”
The couple performed their first dance to a Bingham original titled “Automated,” and then Texas tribute band Straight Night Tequila played ‘90s country for the rest of the evening.
“It was the perfect ending to a perfect night — and honestly, we couldn’t have imagined it any better,” Harrison told Vogue.
