Stella Kidd’s Final Call: Miranda Rae Mayo Leaves Chicago Fire in Tears

After nearly ten years as Stella Kidd, Miranda Rae Mayo has officially announced her departure from Chicago Fire, leaving fans both heartbroken and nostalgic. “I honestly wasn’t prepared for this,” she admitted. “Playing Stella transformed my life. Letting go… it’s been something I’ve had to come to terms with.”

Since joining the series in Season 4, Mayo made Stella the emotional core of Firehouse 51, especially through her unforgettable dynamic with Taylor Kinney’s Kelly Severide. Shooting her final scenes brought a wave of emotion: “I think this might be the last time I walk through that firehouse as Stella Kidd,” she shared.

Off-camera, her colleagues gave a touching send-off, with Kinney describing her as essential to the heart of the show. Mayo reflected, “These people are my family… you just learn to love them from a little farther away.”

Season 14 promises a memorable farewell for Stella, celebrating the mark she leaves behind. Mayo hinted, “The fire never really goes out.”
