Station 19 Season 3 Episode 16 Recap: Explosive Moments You Can’t Miss!

Hi! It took me a while to write this chapter, but here we are! In the last recap, we ended with a huge drama between Maya and Carina, but luckily it won’t last long. Ready to watch? Let’s go!

The episode begins with the firemen and firewomen partying at Dean’s house. Everyone is dancing except for Andy, who is sitting thoughtfully on a couch. At one point during the party, Maya and Vic are having a good time together and start talking:

Vic: I’ve heard you’ve dumped your hot doctor lover.
Maya: And you dumped yours, I’ve heard.
Vic: Yes. Right. We’re dumb.
Maya: Dumb as hell.

Well yes, Maya, my dear, you’ve really messed up, thank goodness it’s going to be fixed soon.

Travis and Emmett are dancing together and Emmet tells Travis that he loves him but he kisses him to stop him from continuing and tells him that he can’t hear him, bad business…

Jack approaches Andy to talk to her and a flashback appears to when Andy was little and we see how her house is burning and she is outside with her mother and some neighbors, then the firefighters arrive, among which is Pruitt, to put out the fire.

We return to the present, where they are still partying, at one point Andy goes out onto the terrace and the flashback reappears where we see how Pruitt and the rest of the firefighters put out the fire, we return to the present and Maya appears on the terrace to talk to her, Andy tells her that she doesn’t want to talk about her father or her husband, so Maya doesn’t know what to say because she was just going to ask her about the two of them and ends up telling her to join the party with her and the others, Andy accepts.

The party is over and day breaks, most of them are at Dean’s house nursing a hangover and no one remembers anything, all the firefighters are there except the captain, and where is Maya?

Maya, being the captain and disciplined woman she is, is at the fire station. Her father is walking by and she is surprised to see him. He says he just wanted to see his daughter, the captain, work because he has tried to get in touch with her but there has been no way. She says she has been very busy and that she now has a warning, but that she can see it later. Maya gets on the truck and leaves.

Firefighters arrive at the scene of the incident. It’s a hospital where there have been several explosions. Initially, everything points to a gas leak. The team rushes to rescue the people inside.

Once inside, Travis and Warren try to free a patient who has been trapped inside one of those tubes where they perform a CT scan or MRI, while the rest try to evacuate the staff.

The team is in a laboratory trying to evacuate the people who are working there and suddenly an explosion is heard, in the next image we see Dean is on the floor with a shelf on top of him and the rest of the team rescues him, fortunately they are all okay but they have been locked in and cannot get out, then Maya’s voice is heard on the radio trying to communicate with her team because she wants to know if they are okay, Jack tells her that they are okay and tells her the whole situation.

Outside we see Maya and Dixon approaching her, the Chief of the Fire Department wants her to inform him of what is happening and she begins to explain to him that there have been three explosions and all the damage they are causing but he ignores her explanations and goes to meet a group of journalists.

The team is trying to save a doctor who has had a piece of furniture fall on her and is seriously injured and suddenly Dean tells them to turn off the radios because he just saw one of the bombs that are causing the explosions, Jack wants to tell Maya but Dean says that the radios have to be turned off.

Outside Maya tries to talk to Jack but can’t because all the radios are off, then she hears a man’s voice saying something like “there’s my girl, acting as boss.” Maya turns around and sees her father, she approaches and he tells her to go do something like when he trained her as a child.

Inside, Dean is trying to defuse the bomb and the rest of the team members start shouting nervously at him, telling him not to touch the bomb.

Maya is talking to the TEDAX and firefighters from other units. The captain tells them she can’t communicate with her team, and the TEDAX chief tells her it’s because they’ve turned off their radios to avoid electrical interference. Then her father calls her back. When she approaches, he tells her his family is falling apart, and all she can think of is to play fire chief. Obviously, she replies that she’s working.

Her father continues to speak ill of her and enters the area designated for firefighters, police, ambulances, and other rescue teams. She tells him he’s committing a crime because obstructing an emergency is a crime, and that she won’t ask him to leave again. When the captain turns around to rejoin the TEDAX, her father can’t think of anything better than to pull her ponytail. The firefighters with her rush to pull him away from Maya.

Inside, the team manages to detonate the bomb in a controlled manner, while outside, the police arrive to arrest Dixon for fraud and extortion. Maya watches with a smile as they take him away in handcuffs.

The team finally emerges safe and sound, with a pile of papers they rescued from inside the lab because the doctor in charge asked them that since they couldn’t save her, they should at least save her research, which could save the lives of many people.

Back at the park Maya is in the bathroom looking at herself in the mirror and crying and then she cuts her ponytail with scissors, then Jack arrives and they have this conversation:

Maya: What an idiot I am. Everyone saw what my father was really like except me. Everyone.
Jack: That’s what always happens.
Maya: I ruined the best relationship I’ve ever had because of him.
Jack: You could apologize to him.
Maya: It’s too late. Very, very late.
Jack: You’d be surprised how much a “sorry” can do.
Maya: I’m sorry, Jack.

Then Jack tells her that they are going to celebrate Dixon’s arrest at Dean’s house, but Maya tells him that she can’t go and that they should have a good time.

At the party, Emmett asks Travis if they can talk for a moment and they go out to the terrace. Emmett tells him that he admires him very much and that he loves him, then he gives him a kiss, but Travis tells him that he is very sorry but that he does not feel the same way about him.

Maya is outside Grey Sloan determined to talk to Carina, then she finds her talking to Teddy:

Maya: Carina.
Carina: (With a sour face) What do you want?
Maya: I’m an idiot. You were right. I was abused. My father abused me, which is no excuse for what I did to you and… I’m begging you, please. Please come back to me. I love you. And I’ve never told anyone except my brother, so it’s not just any old thing. I love you, Carina. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Please forgive me.
Teddy: (Getting in the way, this moment was so funny xD) Oh woman. Forgive her.
Carina: She cheated on me with her ex-boyfriend. And then you blurted it out in my face just to hurt me. What do you expect me to do now? Make me forget? Am I going to trust you now?
Maya: I don’t know. I don’t know. But I’m willing to dedicate myself to convincing you every day.
Teddy: Forgive her. Sorry. Sorry. If you love her, forgive her.
Carina: (Dying to forgive her) I love you, Maya. Come give me a kiss.

Maya comes closer and they kiss while Teddy looks at them smiling.
