Throughout the history of Star Wars, there have been plenty of different questions that didn’t have answers, especially when it came to the various characters of this incredibly large franchise. Of course, a lot of these questions were in relation to the prequel trilogy and the things that happened before, during, and after those movies.
The good thing is that Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, while somewhat short for a Star Wars series, was able to fill in the holes that were related to the time of the Jedi before the fall of the order due to the rise of the Empire. There are still a lot of questions left unanswered, but Tales of the Jedi was able to answer some of the most important questions regarding two prominent ex-Jedi who had entirely different paths in life—Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku. That said, let’s look at what happened to these characters in Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi.
Ahsoka’s Origins
While there aren’t a lot of people wondering how Ahsoka became a Jedi Padawan, Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi was kind enough to allow us to see the events of her childhood and how she was discovered as a Force-sensitive Togruta on the planet called Shili. The series opened up with her origin story when she was still a baby, as her mother took her hunting out in the woods while she was still just about a year old.
However, the hunt didn’t go as expected, as Ahsoka and her mother came under attack by a wild tiger-like beast that had been stalking them. Help came to ward the beast off as Ahsoka’s mother tried her best to keep it at bay. But the tiger took Ahsoka to its lair, where it was going to eat the child in peace.
Nevertheless, thanks to her connection with the Force, Ashoka was able to emotionally communicate with the tiger beast that was about to eat her. This allowed her to bond with it in a manner similar to how Grogu was able to put the Rancor to sleep back in the events of The Book of Boba Fett. And when the tiger took Ahsoka back to her village, that was when the village elder realized that she had the gifts of a Jedi.
This answers the question of how Ahsoka eventually came to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant as a youngling that needed to understand the basics of being a Jedi. Of course, she eventually became the Padawan learner of none other than Anakin Skywalker himself.
A Disenfranchised Jedi Master
After the opening episode about Ahsoka’s origins, we got to see a younger Count Dooku and a younger Qui-Gon Jinn during a mission to an impoverished village where the son of the planet’s senator had been taken by the villagers. It turned out that everyone in that impoverished village was responsible for taking the son, but not even the son of the senator could blame the people for what they did, as they were living impoverished lives while he and his father were allowed to live comfortably in their palace.
Nevertheless, the senator attacked the village after learning where his son was by bribing one of the hungry villagers. This led to a fight between the senator’s soldiers and Dooku and Jinn, who tried their best to protect the villagers without going on the aggressive. Dooku saw how relentless the senator was in his approach when he said that he was willing to burn the village to the ground to set an example to the other people of this planet. This angered the Jedi, who finally went on the offensive.

Qui-Gon, however, had the presence of mind to free the senator’s son so that he could stop Dooku from slaying his father. It was clear in this episode that Dooku was growing to become more impatient with what the senate had been doing as he realized that there were corrupt forces working within the Republic that he swore to protect.
Meanwhile, in episode 3, things were more of the same as Dooku and Mace Windu worked together to recover the body of a fallen Jedi Master on one of the planets under the Republic. But they both found out that the guards of the senator himself learned that the senator had been selling off regions of the planet to earn profits for himself, as this was another case of corruption on the side of the senate. The guards, who killed the senator, were also the ones responsible for the Jedi Master’s death because they believed that the Jedi were simply dogs of the Republic and were willing to do whatever the senators told them to do.
This meant that Dooku had not only lost his trust in the senate but in the Jedi Council as well, as he even learned that Mace Windu was elected to a seat in the council after their mission together. These events led to his growing disenfranchisement toward the Republic and the Jedi Order.
Episode 4 allowed us to see Count Dooku deleting the Kamino files in the Jedi Archives, as it was clear that he was the one who erased the system from the map of the Jedi so that he could keep the plans about the clone army a secret. This answers the question of how Kamino was deleted from the Jedi Archives back when Obi-Wan Kenobi was investigating the matter in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
Yaddle’s Fate Is Finally Explained
After Dooku learned that Qui-Gon Jinn had claimed to have been attacked by a Sith Lord in his time in Tatooine, we saw him meeting up with his own Padawan, who was walking together with Jedi Master Yaddle. Of course, we met Yaddle back in the events of Star Wars Episode I when Qui-Gon presented his thesis about the Sith Lord to the Jedi Council. However, we haven’t seen her since then.
The episode skipped to the part where Qui-Gon Jinn had already fallen to Darth Maul, as Yaddle approached Dooku to tell him that the Jedi Council was on its way to Naboo for the funeral. But Dooku decided not to attend the funeral and was seemingly acting suspicious. This forced Yaddle to chase him all the way to the darker side of Coruscant, where Dooku met up with Darth Sidious.
It was revealed right then and there that Dooku had been working with Sidious as a liaison, even when Maul was still the Sith Lord’s apprentice. Dooku was furious at Sidious for allowing Maul to kill Qui-Gon, as he had hoped that his former apprentice would have joined them. Sidious questioned Dooku’s loyalty, as the Jedi Master revealed that he was loyal to him because he had done everything he could to make sure that their plan would succeed. This included killing Master Sifo-Dyas, deleting the Kamino files, and commissioning the creation of a clone army.

However, Yaddle came in to interrupt the two of them as she had overheard everything. She urged Dooku that he could still make up for his crimes by helping her bring down Sidious. Yaddle also admitted that she, too, had lost faith in the Jedi but was not about to join the Sith. That was when the two dueled in a fight that favored the skilled Dooku.
Dooku nearly crushed Yaddle with the gate of Sidious’s hideout, but the Jedi used the Force to prevent the gate from killing her. Still, she had grown weak from the battle as Dooku finished her off. This answers the question of what happened to Yaddle. At the same time, it answers how Dooku finally became Sidious’s new apprentice.
Ahsoka’s Return
The end of Star Wars: Clone Wars allowed us to see a disenfranchised Ahsoka Tano leaving the Jedi Order and even running away after the Galactic Empire had already taken over. But the thing that we do know is that she still ended up working with the Rebels back in the events of Star Wars: Rebels. So, what happened between the end of Clone Wars and Rebels? Well, Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi answers that question.
After Ahsoka secretly attended the funeral of Padme Amidala, Bail Organa met up with her and gave her a communication device that she could use to contact him directly if she ever wanted to do something about the Empire. But Ahsoka told him that she was done with all of this.
The former Jedi ended up working on a farm in a simple and rural system, as she believed that living there would allow her to have a fresh start away from the Empire and the rebellion. However, when a young woman on the farm was about to get crushed by a bunch of hay, Ahsoka used the Force to save her. This allowed the woman and her brother to develop their own suspicions. But while the woman decided to keep it a secret, the brother had other plans, as he reported Ahsoka to the Empire.
The 20 Strongest Female Jedi in Star Wars
An Inquisitor came in to destroy the entire farm out of revenge for being “lied to” regarding the presence of a Jedi there. But Ahsoka came just in time to save the brother from the Inquisitor. She defeated the Inquisitor and realized how bad things had become all over the Galaxy. That was when she decided to contact Bail Organa and joined his efforts in freeing the Galaxy from the treachery of the Empire.
In a sense, the ending of Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi allowed us to see two different ex-Jedi following different paths in life after their disenfranchisement from the Jedi Order. But instead of joining the Dark side as Dooku did, Ahsoka decided to continue to fight for the protection of the people who were oppressed by the Republic. This allows us to see that Dooku did have a choice back when he lost faith in the Republic and the Jedi, as Ahsoka chose a different path that was differ
