Star Reveals Why ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’ Will Not Feature One Big ‘Young Sheldon’ Cameo

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has plenty of potential to feature cameos from some fan-favorite Young Sheldon stars, but there is one actor that will disappointingly not be putting in an appearance – Sheldon himself, Iain Armitage. While the young actor endeared himself to Big Bang Theory fans with his performance as a young Sheldon Cooper, star Raegan Revord has revealed that there is a very good reason why it would be very difficult for the actor to pop up in the latest Big Bang Theory spinoff.

While promoting her new novel with Entertainment Tonight, Revord reminded everyone that during the events of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, Sheldon is not speaking to Georgie, so the idea of Armitage appearing in any capacity seems somewhat unlikely. However, Revord does offer up the small hope that someone will “find a loophole” to bring him into the series somehow. She said:

“That would be so much fun, but I feel like if, because they’re sticking to the Big Bang Theory lore and everything, because the whole thing in The Big Bang Theory is Georgie and Sheldon don’t talk, because they kind of have a rift between them after George dies. And so if they’re sticking to that, I feel like it wouldn’t make sense for Sheldon to come back. But who knows? Maybe they’ll find a loophole. They have found loopholes before. Maybe they’ll find one again.”

‘The Big Bang Theory’ is Expanding With a Third Spinoff

When The Big Bang Theory came to an end, Young Sheldon had already established itself as a worthy show for the baton to be passed to. The Big Bang Theory ended in 2019, and Young Sheldon aired its finale, with a cameo appearance by Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik as older versions of their characters, in 2024. By that time, George & Mandy’s First Marriage had already been announced, and has now become the latest series to keep the Big Bang Theory flag flying.

Yet, there is still more. In 2023, it was announced by creator Chuck Lorre that there would be another spinoff show that may or may not end up being green-lit. After being teased in late 2024, the new spinoff was announced to have the title of Stuart Fails to Save the Universe in March this year, with Kevin Sussman, Lauren Lapkus, and Brian Posehn reprising their roles as Stuart Bloom, Denise, and Bert Kibbler. The series will find Stuart being “tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon.”

As if this is not enough, it is hard to go more than a few months without Lorre or one of the stars of the original series teasing the possibilities of more offshoots, and even a full sequel series being mentioned at one time or another. The expanded universe of The Big Bang Theory is one that seems impossible to imagine ever coming to an end, and as long as there are fans out there eager for more, it seems that more they shall receive.
