Get ready, ‘S.W.A.T.’ fans! The highly anticipated season 8 of the CBS drama is just around the corner, premiering on October 18, and Shemar Moore is giving us an exciting sneak peek.

After CBS surprised everyone by reviving the show, Moore, a familiar face from Criminal Minds, recently shared behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram, highlighting the team’s preparations for the upcoming season. Posing with cast members like David Bradley Lim and Anna Enger Ritch, he expressed his excitement about Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson returning to the screen.

“@swatcbs Season 8 is well on its way baby!!! Oct 18th!!! 💪🏽👊🏽,” he wrote in a post on September 12.

Omg🔥🔥🔥 yes yes season 8 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.”

S.W.A.T. has had quite a journey, with cancellations and returns over the years. After being axed following season 6, CBS announced a final season 7 in February 2024, only to reveal soon after that season 8 was on its way, set to premiere this fall.

So, what can we expect from the new season? According to an official press release, the premiere episode, titled “Vanished,” will delve into a mission with personal stakes for Hondo as the team searches for missing students and their bus driver. Meanwhile, Hondo will also be adding a new member to his 20-Squad, which may stir up some concerns among his colleagues.

Mark your calendars for October 18!
