The Olympic Icon and Her Long-Awaited Dream Home
Let’s be real—when you hear the name Simone Biles, you probably think of Olympic gold, world records, and gravity-defying gymnastic feats. But lately, the buzz around Biles isn’t about the balance beam… it’s about her unfinished Texas mansion.
Yes, you read that right.
Even after two years, Simone’s custom-built dream home still isn’t ready—and fans are starting to notice.
What Did Simone Say? A Casual Instagram Clue
Simone recently took to Instagram for a casual Q&A with her fans. And when someone asked about her home, she didn’t hold back. She admitted that her dream house still isn’t complete, adding a simple yet telling response:
“It’s still not done.”
Cue the collective gasp from the internet.
Olympic legend Simone Biles is no doubt hoping that good things come to those who wait—particularly when that wait has stretched on for more than two years. That’s the amount of time that the 28-year-old gymnast and her husband, Chicago Bears player Jonathan Owens, have been waiting for their custom-built marital mansion in Texas to be finished.
Though it appeared as though construction was nearing an end, with Biles revealing that the final few details, from the swimming pool to the front lawn, were being completed, she has now hinted that she and Owens are still anticipating the day they can move in to the stunning lakefront abode. Taking to her Instagram Stories on July 13, Biles—who has yet to say whether she plans to make a bid for a spot on Team USA in 2028—shared a video of a picturesque sunset taken from her backyard.
The only problem? The backyard in question is located at her other dwelling: a Spring, TX, property that she purchased in 2020, four years after she made her Olympic debut. Biles and Owens are understood to have been living at the home while work on their incredible custom home is completed—and the Olympian’s latest social media post from the abode suggests that has not yet happened. Still, there are worse places to be holed up in during the final phases of construction.
The house where the happy couple are currently residing may not have been purpose-built for them, but Biles has made multiple updates to the property since moving in five years ago—namely the addition of a stunning backyard swimming pool and entertainment area. Adding a unique element to that space is a funky dining table that comes with swings instead of chairs, where the gymnast regularly hosts her loved ones for fun gatherings.
Biles and Owens’ new dwelling, when finished, will offer some special amenities that arguably can’t be rivaled by those found inside their first shared home. According to Biles, these will include a wet bar, game room, home theater, pet spa, and multiple balconies overlooking the water. Throughout the construction process, which began in early 2023, Biles has shared several progress updates on her social media, beginning with the completion of the home’s wooden frame.
