The good news has finally arrived from the high society ahead of Season 4: Simone Ashley will reprise her role as Kate Sharma in Bridgerton.
The actress confirmed the news in a recent interview with Glamor UK.
“I knew I was coming back but that’s all I can say,” she said.
She added, “I absolutely love the show and the more I can do the better. They’ve been so kind to make time for me.”
While she didn’t reveal too much about what fans should expect from the new season, which is currently scheduled for 2026, any news about Kanthony is welcome news when it comes to the hit Netflix series.
Bridgerton fans were outraged when Ashley’s name was conspicuously absent from Netflix’s Season 4 announcement, despite Jonathan Bailey, who plays her love interest Anthony Bridgerton, being confirmed to be returning. Fans are hoping for more screen time for Anthony and Kate in Season 4. But their on-screen futures are still up in the air, as Season 3 ended with them teasing a trip to India.
Executive producer and showrunner Jess Brownell praised their performances as Kate and Anthony on the show, but noted that they still want to support the actors in their off-screen pursuits.
“I think the power of sending them to India for a short period of time is that it leaves the door open for them to come back, depending on the schedule,” she told Teen Vogue after Season 4 premiered this summer.
She continued, “I think, understandably, when any of our main actors have given their all for their season, in future seasons we want to support the fact that they have other projects coming up, and it’s really unfair to them to ask actors to come back just to be behind the scenes. We love Jonny and Simone, and we’ll bring them back as much as we can.”
She also admitted that their on-screen chemistry is incredible. “They give so much, even with little looks and little gestures. They’re a magical couple, for sure,” she said.
In a separate interview with Glamor, Brownell teased that she has “some really exciting ideas” for Kate and Anthony in Season 4. It’s not yet known how much the newlyweds will appear in Season 4. The new season will largely follow Luke Thompson’s Benedict Bridgerton, who finally makes an appearance at the much-anticipated wedding reception.
According to Netflix, “The new season will focus on the second Bridgerton son, Benedict (Luke Thompson), and his quest to find the alluring Lady in Silver, Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha).”
Production on Season 4 recently began in September. But Brownell recently let fans know that it could be a while before the show returns with new episodes.
