Runner-up Leslie Fhima was left heartbroken by Gerry, but she also showed her resilient side and was an obvious choice for The Golden Bachelorette role. There were also plenty of stand-out women from The Golden Bachelor with bigger personalities who could have fit the role better.

With Gerry’s divorce fresh in viewers’ minds, The Golden Bachelorette won’t seem as genuine. The lackluster choice of lead for The Golden Bachelorette coupled with the fallout and scandal of Gerry and Theresa Nist’s divorce makes this upcoming pilot season lose some of its entertainment value. It looks like Gerry’s inauthenticity and inability to maintain a relationship are dark clouds hanging over The Golden Bachelorette. While the show will likely draw viewers who were fond of The Golden Bachelor, there are too many negatives going against The Golden Bachelorette.
