The hit ABC drama will be back on the air … just not this week.
The Rookie is airing season 7 episodes — and we’re definitely in the middle of an intense chapter of the show!
Amid new rookies joining LAPD Mid-Wilshire, relationship highs and lows happening for team members and dangerous cases every week, it’s hard to believe we’re only halfway into the season! And what’s more, we get to see new dynamics form, as John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) helps his rookie Celina Juarez (Lisseth Chavez) graduate and become a full-fledged cop. And let’s not forget, Nolan is going through his own marital woes, as he and Bailey (Jenna Dewan) are in disagreement over having children and protecting herself from her abusive ex Jason Wyler (Steve Kazee).
This is definitely a lot to take in, and we want to know what happens next. But we have some bad news for you: there won’t be a new episode of The Rookie airing tonight, Tuesday, March 4. But don’t call 911 just yet — it won’t be long before the show returns to our TV screens with an all-new episode.
When does The Rookie season 7 return with new episodes?
Mark your calendars, because The Rookie season 7 will return with a new episode on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
Why isn’t The Rookie on tonight?
Although ABC never officially confirmed why The Rookie isn’t airing a new episode, we did some digging and figured out the answer. The reason The Rookie fans will have to wait before a new episode airs is due to ABC airing President Donald Trump‘s 2025 address to the joint branches of Congress in the same time slot.
Despite the change in schedule, The Rookie will be back sooner than we know it. As for what’s next, the March 11 episode (titled “The Kiss”) will see the LAPD Mid-Wilshire team try to find a suspect after a series of events eventually affects one of their own members. Elsewhere, Celina Juarez (Lisseth Chavez) goes on her first case as a solo police officer … and recruits John’s wife Bailey to help her with it.
With all of this happening, we absolutely need to see what happens next week!
