Al Calderon is exiting the role of Javi Hernandez on Days of Our Lives, according to Deadline. News broke yesterday that Calderon was cast on the second season of NBC’s Brilliant Minds, with the announcement that he was coming off a contract role on the soap.
Insiders tell Deadline that the role of Javi will be recast. Calderon will keep airing in the part through May 2026.
A DAYS rep stated:
We do not comment on the contract status of our actors, but fans should not worry, Javi is alive and well in Salem.
Right now in Salem, Javi is currently raising an infant named Tesoro with Leo (Greg Rikaart); little do Javi and Leo know the child is actually the baby that Sophia (Rachel Boyd) claimed she gave birth to in Chicago!
