In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Shemar Moore shares his thoughts on expanding his family, revealing that while he’s open to having more children, he’s already feeling quite fulfilled with his current household.
The 54-year-old “S.W.A.T.” star is a proud dad to 1-year-old Frankie, whom he shares with girlfriend Jesiree Dizon. Moore reflected on the possibility of adding more little ones, saying, “Possibly. But I ain’t no spring chicken, and Ms. Dizon already has two wonderful kids—Kayden, 17, and Charlie, 6. Plus, we have our dog, Tyson. So, we’ve got a full house!”
A Thoughtful Approach to Fatherhood
Moore, who grew up as an only child, emphasized the importance of quality time with his daughter. “I’m not going to live forever,” he noted. “If I make it to 90, that puts Frankie at 37. I’d rather give her all of me for those years than split my attention.”
During an earlier appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Moore expressed his enjoyment of the present moment, stating, “Right now, I’m enjoying what I got,” when asked about future babies.
Navigating New Parenthood
As a new dad, Moore credits Jesiree for guiding him through parenthood. “Thank goodness for that because I just follow her lead in mommy-hood and fatherhood,” he admitted. “I’m baby-stepping, just trying to figure it all out.”
Moore describes Frankie as his “little miracle,” and he cherishes every moment with her when he’s not on set. He proudly shared that Frankie recently took her first steps, a milestone he was thrilled to witness after returning home from work. “She waited for me to get off work, and literally the next day, she walked 10 steps. Now she’s waddling all over the house!”
With so much love and excitement in his life, Moore’s family is thriving, and while he’s open to the idea of more children, for now, he’s focused on enjoying the beautiful chaos of fatherhood.
