She Thinks He’s Wonderful: Kevin Costner’s Surprising New Relationship with Director Kelly Noonan Gores

Kevin Costner is casually dating director Kelly Noonan Gores, multiple sources tell PEOPLE.

The two were recently seen together and met through mutual friends, a source says.

“Kelly is seeing Kevin, but it’s very casual,” a source continues. “She thinks he’s wonderful and interesting.”

Gores, 46, and Alec Gores divorced in 2024. The former couple tied the knot in October 2016.

“It was excruciating. Even though I initiated the conversation, neither of us wanted this, and it was extremely heartbreaking,” she said on her Heal with Kelly podcast in January, while explaining the “hardest year” of her life. Gores shares daughter Riley, 6, with her ex-husband, 72.

“Dating is not a huge priority for her though,” one source says of Gores. “The past year was tumultuous for her. She separated from her husband last summer and then she lived in a house in Pacific Palisades that burned down. She’s focused on her daughter and her own health.”

Costner, 70, and Christine Baumgartner finalized their divorce in February 2024 after a contentious legal battle. Baumgartner, 51, filed for divorce from the Yellowstone star, citing “irreconcilable differences,” on May 1, 2023. The former couple had been married since 2004.

Baumgartner is currently engaged to financier Josh Connor — a longtime friend and former neighbor of the now-divorced couple. The pair have been together “since she split from Kevin,” a friend of Baumgartner told PEOPLE exclusively in January 2024.

A source told PEOPLE in January that Kevin, upon turning 70, was “in a good place and having fun with his family and friends… He is not seriously involved with anyone and not necessarily looking for anything more than that right now.”

Costner and Baumgartner share three children together – Cayden Wyatt Costner, 18, Hayes Logan Costner, 16, and Grace Avery Costner, 16.

The former couple were most recently seen posing separately with son Cayden at his high school graduation in Santa Barbara, Calif.
