See the younger versions of the beloved characters in the Bridgerton prequel.
The casting director for Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story had a major task: To find the younger versions of the beloved characters of Queen Charlotte, Lady Danbury, and Violet Bridgerton. But they delivered, and the casting was so spot-on that it truly feels like the actors are playing the same character.
The lead, Queen Charlotte, is played by India Amarteifio and Golda Rosheuvel. “India [Amarteifio] worked really hard to embody the characteristics of Golda Rosheuvel, so that you could understand where Golda started out with her movements and how she became Queen Charlotte in Bridgerton,” Shonda Rhimes told Netflix. “She found Golda’s cadence, too. But she also did all kinds of things that I never really thought of for the character of Queen Charlotte.”
Here, see the young Queen Charlotte cast compares to their grown-up Bridgerton counterparts (and all the older versions of the characters also appear in the prequel):
Queen Charlotte
India Amarteifio plays the younger version of Golda Rosheuvel’s Queen Charlotte.
The two Charlottes pose for a photo together. “The only advice that I gave her was to take it and make it her own. And she’s done an amazing job, a beautiful job,” Golda said of India.
Brimsley
Sam Clemmett takes on the younger version of Hugh Sachs’s Brimsley, Queen Charlotte’s trusted aide and butler.
“Brimsley squared,” Clemmett captioned a photo of the two of them at a Queen Charlotte table read.
Lady Agatha Danbury
Adjoa Andoh’s Lady Danbury gets a full backstory in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story—her younger version is played by Arsema Thomas.

Lady Violet Bridgerton (née Ledger)
We see brief glimpses of young Lady Violet Ledger, as played by Connie Jenkins-Greig, in Queen Charlotte. She’s the younger version of future Lady Bridgerton (as played by Ruth Gemmell).
King George III
Corey Mylchreest plays young King George; the older George is played by James Fleet, although he doesn’t appear much in the main Bridgerton series.
