Turner, who is from Iowa, spent a large part of his marriage with his previous wife of 43 years, Toni, in the Quad Cities before she died in 2017. He went on to star as the first leading man of ABC’s “The Golden Bachelor,” a spinoff of the long-running series where contestants vie for love.

He proposed to Nist, one of the contestants, last year. They married on live television in Palm Springs, California in January.
