SEAL Team’s Toni Trucks Explains How Davis’ New Job Will Impact Her Role in the Final Season
With the final season of SEAL Team just around the corner and Bravo’s story just a few episodes away, there’s still a lot to cover. In addition to the aftermath of Season 6’s thrilling finale, there’s the blossoming romance between Sonny Quinn and Lisa Davis, and of course, there’s the matter of Davis’ brand-new job. Now, ahead of the premiere, Toni Trucks is previewing how her character’s new job will impact the season.

Toni Trucks has played Lisa Davis since the military-centric drama began, and the character has taken on a number of different roles since then. She was a Logistics Specialist First Class, then a Second Lieutenant, before moving up to become a DEVGRU Intelligence Officer for Bravo. Junior Lieutenant Grade will once again take on a new role, and Trucks told TV Insider that this will change the character’s dynamic with her teammates: I think the new role that she’s taking on makes her job more impactful but also makes the dynamic a little more difficult for her. I think Davis’ dream is to be in a position that really directly impacts the safety of the warfighter and especially Bravo Team, how can I keep them as safe as possible for global reasons and also for selfish reasons.

At first, it wasn’t the easy job or the dream job that she thought it would be. She was like, this is exactly what I want. And then, be careful what you wish for. Davis has become quite close to Bravo and is part of the new family that they’ve formed. She’s always there for them and makes sure they’re as safe and protected as possible when they’re out on missions and have the cover they need. It’s not always easy, but it seems like this new role could be exactly what she and Bravo need, and it could be the exact opposite.

And, with Davis also being a part of that group, there’s an added layer of emotion. Just like the first six seasons, the dynamics are bound to be complicated and that could spell trouble for characters that viewers have come to love. Toni Trucks also revealed that Davis will have to balance a lot, and it’s not something fans haven’t seen before: And I think that’s going to be, I think it’s safe to say, a theme that’s going to continue to come up this season, which is the balance between duty and loyalty and how she’s going to navigate people that she considers absolute family and also a job that she really takes seriously. It’s her pride and joy.
