SEAL Team fans were thrilled earlier this week when Paramount+ bosses officially gave Bravo the green light to return with a new mission for a seventh season. Several of the show’s cast and crew took to social media to celebrate the announcement, including Brown Jr., who made sure to credit the key players who made the renewal possible.
Brown Jr., like SEAL Team fans around the world, was left in limbo waiting to discover the fate of SEAL Team before the renewal.
After all, season six was renewed just a week after the fifth season ended, meaning the two-month wait for news of a seventh season felt like a lifetime.
Fans even flooded social media with the hashtag #RenewSEALTeam as eager viewers urged Paramount bosses not to let their beloved series end.
But now that the renewal has arrived, and celebrating the news, Brown Jr. wrote on Instagram: “Here’s to some great news to start the new year!
“You guys have no idea how grateful I am to be able to bring you more shows that wouldn’t exist without your love and support!”
Referring to his co-stars who made the renewal possible, star Ray Perry continued: “A huge thank you to showrunner and EP @spencerhudnut for leading the show along with his talented writing team who continue to deliver the good stuff!”
And he even called out showrunner and star Jason Hayes by name, David Boreanaz, writing: “Sending love to the ‘great guy’, EP and number one star, @imdboreanaz for happily punishing himself for another season.”
His tribute continued: “Thank you so much to #Chrischulack for making it so easy, my humble respect and admiration for our cast and crew (past and present) who put their hearts into every episode, and to @cbstvstudios and @paramountplus.
“I’m literally just a poor skinny kid from the American South who can’t believe this is my life, and I thank God every day that I have the opportunity to be better. Cheers to you all, see you soon! #happynewyear #beefjerkytime #SEALTeam #Blessed #Army #Season7 #grateful,” he concluded.
Boreanaz took to the comments section of the post to return the love his co-star had for him.
“Here we go! Love you,” Boreanaz wrote in response to his friend’s kind words. show.
According to Deadline, the renewal was delayed due to back-and-forth discussions over “how to produce the series more efficiently for streaming.”
Rumors of behind-the-scenes drama have been cleared up, but the complications of SEAL Team’s move from CBS to Paramount+ are clearly still there.
However, the news of the seventh season confirmation did not come with any announcements regarding the series, which is also in production.
Instead, Tanya Giles, Paramount Streaming’s chief programming officer, said in a statement: “We look forward to bringing SEAL Team fans even more of the series’ deep storylines and thrilling missions with the upcoming seventh season.
“The series continues to grow and expand its audience. It’s a great example of the types of programming we see resonate with our subscribers.”
With news of the renewal only recently announced, season seven has yet to receive a release date.
But with previous series premiering in late fall and winter, it’s likely that season seven will do the same.
