SEAL Team’s Jason Hayes’ Death Confirmed as David Boreanaz Reveals Ominous Clue About Season 7
The seventh and final season of SEAL Team premieres on Paramount+ this Sunday, and some members of Bravo Team may not survive.
SEAL Team star David Boreanaz has dropped an ominous hint about the end of the military drama’s final season.
The series continues to follow Master Chief Jason Hayes (played by David Boreanaz) and his elite Navy Seals unit, after moving from CBS to the Paramount+ streaming platform in 2021.
Season six ended nearly two years ago with the fate of the team uncertain after Jason revealed the extent of his traumatic brain injury and how it affected his performance on recent missions.
He was reprimanded by his superiors, including Eric Blackburn (Judd Lormand), who told him, “You made a terrible mess and left us with no choice but to fire you.”
However, Ray Perry (Neil Brown Jr.) stood up for him, informing everyone that he had been suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder following the kidnapping.
It didn’t take long for the rest of the team – more than two dozen other Navy SEALs – to file and reveal their various physical and mental health issues.
Heading into the next season, lead actor David revealed that he knew this would be his last, even before the series was severely affected by last year’s Hollywood strikes.
“For me, it’s been a full-circle journey,” he shared candidly.
“Coming into [this] season, even before the writers’ strike, I had decided that this was my end—that’s something that not a lot of people know about.”
David has been leading the show for seven seasons, so even if SEAL Team is still going, it’s no surprise that he’d want to step back at this stage.
However, showrunner Spencer Hudnut clearly believes that the show begins and ends with Jason, and the star even hinted at a tragic end for Master Chief to cap off the show.
When asked if Jason might have a future outside of Bravo, David admitted to TVLine, “I think [spending time with his kids] has given him a future that he probably still feels a little awkward about.
“Because what he thinks is working may not be working. The ultimate pivot point for these operators is, ‘How do they handle their kills?’ How does that traumatically impact them on missions and at home.”
Settling back to life back home could prove to be just as challenging as his missions in the season premiere as the final tour follows the SEALs trying to readjust to normal life.
Unfortunately, he won’t be settling for long, as David teases a devastating ending to one of Jason’s final missions.
“But ultimately, he could be taken away by the greatest force, which is death,” he says.
That’s something we have to consider and want to consider.
“How he gets back to the battlefield and what happens to him is going to be interesting.”
