SEAL TEAM is coming to an end after its seventh season.
“When we first heard about SEAL TEAM nearly seven years ago, I was struck by the producers’ genuine passion for telling authentic stories that honor and celebrate the sacrifices of our veterans and all who have served our country,” CBS Studios president David Stapf said in a statement.
He continued, “Since that first meeting, they have not wavered in that mission. The characters, storylines, and performances from the cast continue to be both exquisite and powerful. We look forward to an exciting and satisfying seventh and final season.”
SEAL TEAM debuted in 2017, airing for four seasons on CBS before moving to Paramount+.
SEAL TEAM 3:15: RULES OF ENGAGEMENT was nominated by Movieguide® for a 2021 Faith & Freedom® Award for Television and Streaming. Part of the review reads: “Rules of Engagement” is a dramatic, thrilling, and patriotic SEAL TEAM episode. It honors the service and sacrifice of American soldiers in service to their country and to make the world a safer place. It denounces the chaos and evil that bad groups like Radical Islamic Terrorists, Russia, and Communist China spread abroad.
The final season is expected to debut on the streaming platform sometime in 2024. Production is set to begin this December.
Star David Boreanaz also released a statement about the end of SEAL TEAM, saying, “For six seasons, I have been fortunate and blessed to be a part of such an incredible cast and crew. Every day is a tribute to the men and women of the military and Special Forces. I thank our fans and I am proud that we were able to make this show that shines a light in the darkness toward so much suffering today.”
“The daily work and complex spiritual approach to such a character [as Jason Hayes] has allowed me to fully understand and appreciate the sacrifices these men and women make,” he added on Instagram.
“I look forward to season seven and the opportunity to end this series with love and gratitude,” he concluded.
Variety reports that, as part of the SEAL TEAM season finale, “Paramount+ will take the show on the road and partner with organizations that support U.S. veterans. More details will be provided at a later date.”
Movieguide® previously reported on the SEAL TEAM Season 7 renewal: Paramount+ recently announced that SEAL TEAM will return for a seventh season exclusively on the streaming platform.
“We look forward to bringing SEAL TEAM fans even more of the series’ deep storylines and thrilling missions with the upcoming seventh season,” said Tanya Giles, Paramount Streaming’s head of programming.
“The series continues to grow and expand its audience. This is a great example of the types of programming we see resonate with our subscribers,” she added.
