SEAL Team star knows fans are hoping Davis and Sonny will date, shares reaction to writers revealing what happens next
The first two episodes of SEAL Team’s final season are now available for Paramount+ subscribers to stream. While this particular entry in the 2024 TV schedule has only just begun, it’s already shaping up to be a sweet farewell season. From the aftermath of Season 6’s shocking ending to the ongoing effects of Clay’s death on Sonny and the rest of Bravo, and everything in between, there’s a lot to consider. Speaking of Sonny, his relationship with Davis has also been a hot topic, and Toni Trucks has revealed her reaction to the writers revealing it.
Throughout the first six seasons of the CBS-turned-Paramount+ military drama, Toni Trucks’ Lisa Davis and A.J. Sonny Quinn have been inseparable. Buckley clearly had feelings for each other. However, nothing seemed to work out for them, either because of personal lives, professional obligations, or both. Trucks spoke to Us Weekly about the fan-favorite “couple,” revealing that she’s known for a while how things would play out between Lisa and Sonny:
I have my own feelings about what’s going to happen with them. But I let the writers take the reins. They always had a vision for that romance. Even when they presented it to me, I was like, ‘This is going to be great.’
There are only 10 episodes in SEAL Team’s final season, which means there’s not a lot of time to introduce a new concept and build it up properly and make it work for the fans. But I will say that Toni Trucks’ tease was enough to get me excited. “Big” is a strong adjective, and her use of it after reacting to plans for Davis and Quinn could mean that fans are in for some big action.
While Sonny and Davis haven’t actually gotten together yet, Toni Trucks clearly knows that fans want it. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to offer any specifics on the couple’s path forward, but she did offer a promise that’s good enough for me right now:
I’m touched that that’s the No. 1 thing people want to talk to me about when they’re blocking me. And we’re really giving them something to root for. Fans won’t be disappointed [and] that push and pull is present this season. It’s a little bit of a stretch how things play out.
With Davis’ new job, it may be harder for her to spend more time with Sonny and the rest of Bravo. Still, they’re a surrogate family, and a relationship like theirs is hard to break. Things are still a little awkward between her and Sonny, so this could actually be for the better, at least for now. It’s hard to know what will happen between them, but I’m confident that since this is the final season, the writers — along with Toni Trucks and A.J. Buckley — will put the characters on a high note. Since SEAL Team is one of many shows ending or being canceled in 2024, it’s sad to say goodbye to the series in just a few weeks. Expect these final seasons to be packed with action and drama, some of which will definitely involve Davis and Sonny. Fans can catch up on new episodes, which debut Sunday on Paramount.
