SEAL Team’s compelling fourth season has been a hit with fans since it concluded on CBS last month. With another season officially in the works, currently airing on Paramount+, viewers have been catching up on some old favorites and have unfortunately discovered some puzzling plot holes.
Jason Hayes (played by David Boreaneaz) seemingly forgot Bravo Team’s list of achievements in a pivotal scene in SEAL Team season two.
In a pivotal moment in the season finale, ‘Never Out of the Fight,’ Hayes somehow failed to remember the correct medal count, despite his team being in full uniform.
In the episode, Commander Shaw (Peter Jessop) threatens to split up the team after they fail to complete an important mission.
However, another situation quickly arises in Lahore, giving Bravo Team one last chance to prove they can work as a unit.
After killing four wanted terrorists, they return home to hold an overdue ceremony for their comrade Bret Swann (Tony Curran), who committed suicide earlier in the season.
After enduring some of the most difficult missions to date, Hayes toasts his surviving comrades by listing their accomplishments in combat.
“There are 46 operators in this room,” he says. “655 years of service. 439 years deployed. 130 of those were deployed to combat.”
“There were 21 divorces among us. 54 children affected by those breakups. 17 Purple Hearts. 104 Bronze Stars. Three Silver Stars.”
Recognizing their shared trauma, he finishes: “That’s a lot of pain to carry.
“But I wouldn’t trade that pain for anything, because that’s what makes us who we are.”
While touching on sentiment, Hayes’ congratulatory message sparked quite a bit of debate among SEAL Team fans.
Many eagle-eyed viewers were quick to point out that the medal list was incorrect, and worse, most of their medals were present and visible at the time.
One fan posted on the message board: “Bravo Team alone has eight Silver Stars.
“The only Bravo operators without Silver Stars are Blackburn and Full Metal.
