‘SEAL Team’ Season 7: Everything You Need to Know So Far About the Final Episodes, Including Release Date, Cast, and More
There’s no doubting the length of the TV series that not only appeals to dads but also takes viewers behind the scenes of men (and women) past and present in uniform for the United States government. Sure, Reacher is the series that’s getting the most hype out there right now in that regard, and the Jack Ryan series has taken the spy angle with the same meat-and-potatoes appeal, but if you loved those shows, hopefully you didn’t sleep on Paramount’s SEAL Team.
The show has been airing on CBS since 2017 and is now gearing up for its seventh and final season after moving to Paramount+ after its fourth season. Let’s not waste any more time before we find out what viewers can expect from the elite NAVY SEAL team before the show’s finale.
Ahead of production on season seven, Paramount announced that SEAL Team would be getting one final mission. The military-focused drama began filming the final season (which will wrap up the characters’ stories in lieu of a planned movie) in early January. David Boreanaz (Bones and Buffy) posted a thank you on Instagram, both for his role as executive producer and Special Warfare Commander Jason Hayes: “The beginning of the end. Jason Hayes, Bravo 1.”
Boreanaz previously told The Hollywood Reporter, “For six seasons, I have been fortunate and blessed to be a part of such an incredible cast and crew. Every day is a thank you to our men and women in the military and Special Forces. I thank our fans and I am proud that we were able to make this show shine a light in the darkness toward so much pain today. I look forward to season seven and the opportunity to end this series with love and gratitude.”
As viewers know, Hayes’ journey on the series began with him grieving the loss of a fellow soldier. The military drama has not lost its intensity, and season six ended with Special Warfare Operator First Class Clay Spenser losing his life, so Hayes will continue to struggle in the same way his character entered this story. That kind of heartwarming sentiment will likely continue throughout the final season, but Paramount+ has otherwise remained tight-lipped about the upcoming storyline. However, some curiosity has been sparked by the announcement of a new character played by Beau Knapp, as reported by Deadline: “Knapp will play Drew Franklin, a high-ranking officer with a history of vetting at Command whose placement on Bravo Team is a sign of their problematic childish status in the eyes of the DEVGRU powers that be. A smooth talker who exploits any angle to his advantage, Drew delights in the mystery and rumors that surround him.”
