Paramount+ today released a trailer for the new season of the military drama series SEAL Team. The series was renewed for Season 6 earlier this year, and now the streaming platform has highlighted that Jason Hayes’ (David Boreanaz) new tour of Bravo Team will be shorter: 10 episodes in total, set to debut in late September. Like previous seasons, the series will chronicle the professional and personal lives of the Navy’s elite SEALs as they embark on some of the most dangerous military missions and try to cope with everyday life when they’re not deployed somewhere around the globe.
As the trailer makes clear, Season 6 will get right to the point and pick up right after the explosive conclusion of Season 5, when Bravo Team was ambushed in Mali. Now we’ll finally find out how their fight for their lives played out, as well as who survived. One thing is for sure, though: None of them escaped the RPG ambush unscathed.
Additionally, the SEAL Team trailer highlights some of the more dangerous missions the team will face this time around, including an investigation into a Navy destroyer that was hit and caused multiple casualties, a new long-term mission in northern Syria, and the team’s ongoing danger of being demobilized.
SEAL Team was created by Emmy-nominated Benjamin Cavell (Homeland, Justified), and premiered on CBS in September 2017. The show aired on the network for four seasons before moving to Paramount+. The change didn’t hurt the show’s audience, leading to its most recent renewal. Earlier this year, Paramount+ Original Scripted Series President Nicole Clemens called SEAL Team a “high-performing title” that “consistently ranks in the top 10 most-watched original series.” If the series continues its momentum, we can expect many more tours for Bravo Team.
‘SEAL TEAM’ is a military drama that follows the professional and personal lives of the Navy SEALs’ most elite unit as they train, plan and execute the most dangerous and high-risk missions our country can ask of them. Jason Hayes (Boreanaz) is the respected and stern leader of the Tier One team whose family life is affected by his existence as a warrior. His team includes his trusted confidant, Ray Perry (Brown, Jr.), the longest-serving operator with whom Jason shares an ingrained acronym; Sonny Quinn (Buckley), a loyal, exceptional soldier with a troubled past who still struggles with self-destructive tendencies; Clay Spenser (Thieriot), a young, multilingual second-generation SEAL with unwavering drive and dedication; Omar Hamza (Barsoumian), a senior commander with fifteen years of SEAL experience, the son of Syrian immigrants with a deep understanding of the Middle East. Critical to the team’s success is Lieutenant Lisa Davis (Trucks), a hands-on and commanding officer. Deployed to covert missions around the world at any time and knowing the toll they and their families have taken, this tight-knit SEAL team demonstrates unwavering patriotism and fearless dedication even in the face of great odds.
