Bravo’s days are numbered… at least on screen. Let’s hope the team’s end isn’t a tragic one. (We haven’t forgotten Clay’s death.) Paramount+ has announced that SEAL Team will end with its upcoming seventh season, which is set to air on the streaming service in 2024. Production on the final season is set to begin in early December.
The military drama follows the professional and personal lives of the Navy’s most elite SEAL unit as they train, plan, and execute the most dangerous and high-risk missions our country could ask of them. David Boreanaz stars as Team Captain Jason Hayes, alongside Neil Brown Jr. (Ray Perry), AJ Buckley (Sonny Quinn), Toni Trucks (Lisa Davis), and Raffi Barsoumian (Omar). Season 6 ends with Jason publicly speaking about his TBI while receiving his Navy Cross, then confronting the commander alongside Bravo and other SEALs who list their own struggles.
“For six seasons, I have been so lucky and blessed to be a part of such an incredible cast and crew,” Boreanaz, who also serves as an executive producer, said in a statement. “Every day is a thank you to the men and women of the military and Special Forces. I am thankful for our fans and proud that we were able to make this show shine a light in the darkness for so many people suffering today. I look forward to season seven and the opportunity to end this series with love and gratitude.”
Executive producers Spencer Hudnut and Christopher Chulack added, “It has been an honor to tell stories over seven seasons that honor the courage and heroism of all who have served our country. We are incredibly grateful to our incredibly talented cast, writers, directors, and crew, especially the hundreds of veterans who have worked on this show. We want to thank CBS Studios, Paramount+, and CBS for their partnership and support over the years, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to the fans who have joined Bravo Team week after week and season after season. While we look forward to continuing to focus on areas where we can do better for our service members even after season seven concludes, we hope that the SEAL Team community will continue to fight to protect those who protect us.”
SEAL Team debuted on CBS in 2017 and aired its first four seasons on the network. Then, after four episodes of Season 5, it moved to Paramount+, where all six seasons are now available. (Season 5 is currently airing Thursdays on CBS.) The streaming service will take SEAL Team on the road to honor and support the armed forces and partner with programs that benefit the nation’s veterans to celebrate the show’s launch. “From four seasons on CBS Network to three seasons on Paramount+, SEAL Team has built an incredible legacy honoring and celebrating the brave men and women who serve in the armed forces,” said Jeff Grossman, Executive Vice President, Content & Business Operations, Paramount Streaming. “We thank David Boreanaz and the entire cast and crew for bringing this extraordinary and thought-provoking series to life. We look forward to honoring their work and giving Team Bravo fans a fantastic final season.”
David Stapf, President of CBS Studios, noted, “When we first heard about SEAL Team nearly seven years ago, I was struck by the producers’ genuine passion for telling authentic stories that honor and celebrate the sacrifices of veterans and all who serve our country. Since that first meeting, they have not wavered in that mission. The characters, storylines, and performances from the cast continue to be both subtle and powerful. Thank you to David, Spencer, Chris, Mark, and the entire cast and crew for their collaboration, creative vision, and dedication. We look forward to an exciting and fulfilling seventh and final season.”
CBS Studios produces SEAL Team. Joining Hudnut, Chulack, and Boreanaz as executive producers are Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, and Mark Owen.
