S.W.A.T. season 8 gets an official release date from the network, as the new season will premiere on October 18, 2024. The show debuted on CBS in November 2017, and after the sixth season, it was canceled in May 2023. But later, the network changed its decision and renewed it for a seventh and final season.
In April 2024, once again, CBS reversed its decision and renewed for a final and eight-season before the conclusion of season 7. S.W.A.T. Season 8 Plot Synopsis – Spoilers Ahead
The series follows Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, who is a Sergeant in the elite S.W.A.T. unit for the Los Angeles Police Department. He has been tasked to lead the S.W.A.T. unit after the team leader William “Buck” Spivey accidentally fired on an unarmed black teenager. Hondo was chosen as the leader because he was both black and L.A.-born and raised. Throughout the season, he earned the respect of the local community by leading the operations. It also explores his personal life and the lives of people around him.
The eighth season continues after some events in the finale of season 7. However, the series focuses on each episode to solve new cases; it will also follow in the new season. Luca’s departure may lead to the arrival of a new member of the team.
