Best believe she’s even more bejeweled now, folks. In news you’d have to live in space to not have heard by now, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are tying the knot. The pop singer announced her engagement to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end in a series of images posted to Instagram that showed the pair surrounded by flowers in one pic, and Swift showing off her ring in the next. The post’s caption reads simply: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Kelce shared his Swift crush on his New Heights podcast in July 2023, mentioning that he’d written his phone number on a friendship bracelet when he attended one of the stops on Swift’s The Eras Tour. Then, in September 2023, Swift showed up to one of Kelce’s football games. The love story continued from there. Even before the engagement news, it’s been a big summer for Swift, who recently announced her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which releases Oct. 3.
If the Kelce and Swift engagement news has you in the mood for love, read on for our guide to some of the best proposals streaming now on Netflix.
1. Penelope and Colin, Bridgerton

In Season 3 of Bridgerton, Colin (Luke Newton) finally proclaims his love for Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) in Episode 5 (“Tick Tock.”) After his admission, the two share a steamy moment in a carriage, ending with Colin popping the big question. Perhaps what’s more romantic is the next day, when Colin comes to call on Penelope in Episode 6 (“Romancing Mister Bridgerton”) and overhears her mother, Portia Featherington (Polly Walker), insulting their engagement. He stands up to Penelope’s mother and announces that his fiancée is the most “eligible” of the Featherington women before taking her to see their future home.
2. Zack and Irina, Love is Blind
There’ve been many memorable engagements in Love is Blind’s eight seasons, but Zack and Irina’s in Season 3, Episode 3 (“Is Love Really Blind?”) is a key moment. After going back and forth between choosing either Bliss or Irina, Zack makes his choice. When he decides to propose to Irina, words aren’t enough. He writes a song for her about their memorable time together in the pods. Of course, Irina says yes.
Yearning for more LIB moments to have and to hold? The next season premieres Oct. 9.
3. Sarah and John, Outer Banks

When Sarah (Madelyn Cline) has a near-death experience in Outer Banks Season 2, Episode 3 (“Prayers”), the potential of losing her gives John (Chase Stokes) clarity about their relationship. She miraculously survives her injury — as well as a surprise car chase — and in the aftermath, still on the run, they share a quiet moment. Sitting on a boat, Sarah tells John they should get married. They’re out on the water and a ring isn’t available, but John does something even more romantic — he gives her a piece of his father’s handkerchief as a “token of his love.”
Their love has only blossomed since then — and there’s more to come. Outer Banks Season 5 is in production now.
4. Charles and Diana, The Crown

In The Crown Season 4, Episode 3 (“Fairytale”), the historical series about the royal family shows the pivotal 1981 engagement between Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor) and the future Princess Diana (Emma Corrin). After dating for six months, Charles proposes to Diana — in the Windsor Castle nursery, of all places. The future royal responds, “Yes, please.” Then comes the ring: a stunning sapphire reminiscent of Diana’s mother’s engagement ring. When they announce their plans to wed on television, Diana’s life forever changes.
5. Alexa and Lino, Temptation Island
After a tense season on Temptation Island, with other couples immediately ditching their significant others for sexy singles, one couple made it through. In Episode 10, “The Final Bonfire,” Alexa and Lino meet back up at the bonfire to have a conversation about their relationship after their time apart. Both grew during that period and realized their love for one another. When they recommit and leave the island together, Lino gets down on one knee and asks for Alexa’s hand in marriage.
For more lovey-dovey bonfire moments, keep an eye out for Temptation Island Season 2, which is in the works now.
