Here to prove there’s no age limit on romance, the upcoming debut of “The Golden Bachelorette” will feature 24 distinguished men vying for the heart of 61-year-old Joan Vassos, a fan-favorite from the inaugural season of “The Golden Bachelor.”
Among the contestants is 69-year-old Kim, a retired Navy Captain from Seattle. Kim’s biography says he “loves spending time on his sailboat and dreams of taking Joan for a romantic ride as the sun goes down.” He’s a proud dad and grandfather who values integrity, and describes his ideal date as cooking together and then enjoying a good meal in the backyard. Kim reveals he’s an excellent whistler, fancies an old-fashioned cocktail and hopes to learn piano in his golden years.
This season’s leading lady was initially a contestant on Gerry Turner’s season of “The Golden Bachelor,” but Joan Vassos opted to leave early to be with her family and welcomed her second grandchild a short time later. She has four children with her husband of 32 years, who passed away in 2021.
Ranging in age from 57 to 69, the contestants hail from all corners of the U.S.The PNW has another local connection to the show with 68-year-old Bill, a retired videographer from Portland, Oregon.
The men will convene at the famed ‘Bachelor’ Mansion in California to embark on their journey for love.
