REPORT: Daisy Ridley Scores Massive Payday for Upcoming Star Wars Movie
A new report reveals how much Daisy Ridley is set to make for reprising her role as Rey Skywalker in another Star Wars movie.
Daisy Ridley has allegedly secured a massive payday to reprise her role as Star Wars sequel trilogy character Rey Skywalker in a new movie set in a galaxy far, far away.
According to a report from insider Jeff Sneider (via X), Ridley is set to make $12.5 million from the upcoming Star Wars movie, which will pick up with her character 15 years after the events of 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. While plot details are scarce, the movie will reportedly follow Ridley’s Rey as she rebuilds the Jedi Order, with the character stepping into a mentor role similar to the one Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker played in the original and sequel trilogies, respectively.

Daisy Ridley Reveals Why She’s Returning to Star Wars
The upcoming Star Wars movie, and Ridley’s return as Rey, was officially announced by Lucasfilm at Star Wars Celebration 2023. In a recent interview, Ridley revealed how she was convinced by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy to return as the popular character after leading the sequel trilogy. She explained that Kennedy reached out to her, suggesting that they go “have breakfast.” From there, Ridley revealed that Kennedy casually mentioned during the meal that Lucasfilm was thinking about doing “another one.”
Ridley said that she then went away to think about the story she was pitched. “So I thought about it for a little bit and once I knew what the story was and everything I knew it was something I really wanted to do. I think it’s a really fantastic exploration of the Star Wars world. It’s a really cool way of taking the story on in a bit of a different direction,” she added.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian actor Pedro Pascal celebrates the confirmation of Jon Favreau’s upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu film.
Ridley’s Star Wars movie, which will be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, is one of several upcoming features set to hit theaters over the next decade. The Mandalorian & Grogu is perhaps the most anticipated Star Wars movie in development. Lucasfilm announced the feature-length spinoff of the fan-favorite Disney+ series in January 2024, with Jon Favreau attached to direct.
Other Star Wars movies in the works include James Mangold’s upcoming feature about the origins of The Force, set during the Dawn of the Jedi era. Mangold will write and direct the movie, which is set roughly 25,000 years before the events of 1977’s Star Wars. Dave Filoni is also directing a feature-length film set in the New Republic era that will conclude post-Return of the Jedi storylines that began in The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka and the upcoming Skeleton Crew.
Ridley’s Star Wars movie does not yet have a release date.
