Queen Charlotte star Arsema Thomas is ready to take on a major gay role Bridgerton stans… listen up!

Arsema Thomas rose to fame when she played Lady Agatha Danbury in Netflix’s hit series Queen Charlotte. Now, the gay actress is starring in the brand new She Taught Love.

Thomas’ character Mali falls in love with a troubled man at a very sensitive time in her life. Although She Taught Love centers on a straight couple, the show’s core message of forgiveness and true love is meant for all audiences.

“I just hope that people can connect with the universal aspects of the story. Even though it’s a straight couple, the love is built on respect. I think that’s something that’s in all the beautiful relationships that we hope for and dream about,” Thomas told PRIDE.

As she continues to build her profile in Hollywood, Thomas is now looking to play a gay lead in her next big project.

Thomas uses she/they pronouns, so it would be a huge personal and professional milestone to represent her community on a large scale. Plus, her She Taught Love co-star Taissa Farmiga is also hoping to tackle a gay character in the near future.
