t was a family affair at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards when Chris O’Donnell brought along a very special guest — his 14-year-old daughter, Maeve — for a glamorous night out.
The NCIS: Los Angeles star, 52, served as a presenter at the star-studded ceremony on September 12, 2022, teaming up with fellow CBS favorite Shemar Moore to hand out the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. But before the spotlight moment, O’Donnell and Maeve made an elegant entrance on the red carpet — and the father-daughter duo stole the show.
Wearing a classic black suit, O’Donnell looked every bit the Hollywood veteran. By his side, Maeve shone in a colorful slip dress paired with silver heels — a sophisticated look for the youngest of O’Donnell’s five children with wife Caroline Fentress. The longtime couple, married since 1997, also share Lily Anne (23), Christopher Jr. (21), Charles (19), and Finley (16).
During a chat with KTLA, the Batman Forever actor revealed that nearly all of his kids have made guest appearances on NCIS: Los Angeles. “Four of the five have been on the show in little bit parts,” he shared, “and the one that hasn’t — Christopher Jr. — is a little jealous at this point. We’ll see. We’ll try and find him a little spot.”
Maeve was actually the most recent O’Donnell kid to step in front of the camera, making her NCIS: LA debut in 2015 at just seven years old. She appeared in an episode alongside her mom — and apparently stole the spotlight.
“She had one little line, and she would rehearse it at home and knew her line,” O’Donnell told Entertainment Tonight at the time. “She did it and she’s like, ‘OK.’ I said, ‘We’re going to do it again,’ and she said, ‘But I did it. I did it good.’”
Though Maeve was initially nervous, she warmed up fast. “She arrived at my trailer and they put a big star with her name on the board,” O’Donnell recalled proudly. “Then in the makeup trailer, they let her play with the brushes and do her hair — she loved it.”
The Mad Love alum has often spoken about his hands-on parenting style. During a 2020 appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan, he opened up about the unexpected silver lining of lockdown life with five kids under one roof.
“When COVID hit, everybody came home from school, so we had all five in the house,” he said. “It was great. We had more family dinners in two or three months than we’d had in years. But you do realize — college-age kids aren’t meant to live with their parents forever. It’s not natural,” he joked.
Natural or not, it’s clear O’Donnell cherishes every moment with his tight-knit family — both on set and on the red carpet.
