On the Tuesday, August 19 episode of Days of Our Lives, spoilers tease that Marlena (Deidre Hall) and Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) commiserate about their family issues, while the bond between Chad (Billy Flynn) and Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) grows. Also, Chanel (Raven Bowens) is cross-examined on the witness stand, and later Belle (Martha Madison) and Johnny (Carson Boatman) deliver closing statements. Lastly, the identity of EJ’s (Dan Feuerriegel) shooter is finally revealed! Click through the gallery to see a sneak peek of the upcoming DAYS action and check out the full promo for this week.
Belle (Martha Madison) clashes with Johnny’s former lawyer EJ (Dan Feuerriegel), who is not only the victim in the case but also Johnny’s father and Belle’s ex-boyfriend — the man she once swore she never wanted to see again. Will he be able to say anything to change her mind?
Johnny (Carson Boatman) takes the stand as District Attorney Belle, who also happens to be his aunt, cross-examines him. Will Johnny be able to hold his own against Belle now that he’s representing himself in the attempted murder trial after firing his father as his lawyer?
Johnny seems to be delivering his closing statement to the jury, which includes Leo (Greg Rikaart). Can he persuade them that he is truly innocent — that even though he admitted to saying that he wanted his father dead, he never could have pulled the trigger?
At the bookstore, Rachel (Alice Halsey, r.) and Marlena (Deidre Hall, c.) run into Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes). Shop owner Foster (Miles Anderson) beams as the little girl appears ready to make a purchase.
While seated together in Horton Town Square, Rachel enjoys her new book as her grandmother Marlena takes a phone call. Does the call involve Rachel, or could it be about Marlena’s grandson Johnny and his court case
Belle cross-examines Chanel (Raven Bowens, l.) on the stand as Judge Dabney (Karole Foreman) observes closely. Will Belle trip up Chanel about her intentions toward EJ, or will Chanel insist that neither she nor her husband Johnny is responsible for shooting him?
Chanel and Johnny pause in the courtroom to reconnect. He vowed to do right by her, while she pleaded with him to focus more on his own defense than on clearing her name. Will the trial end in their favor and exonerate them both of wrongdoing?
Johnny requested that EJ leave the courtroom for the remainder of the trial, yet there he is. Will Johnny welcome his father’s presence, or is this setting the stage for another tense confrontation between father and son?
