The One Chicago franchise, consisting of Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. takes viewers on emotional, thrilling, and adrenaline-fuelled rides on Wednesdays on NBC. The network is adding another aspect to this experience with a brand-new podcast that will accompany the shows when they return this fall. Variety reports that the podcast, titled One Chicago Podcast, is an official behind-the-scenes look at the work that goes into bringing the stories to life. The news was announced by Chicago Med star Steven Weber and Chicago P.D. star Marina Squerciati at the ATX TV Festival. The podcast is yet to find its host, but it will be announced as soon as that happens. The One Chicago Podcast enlists series’ producer Wolf Entertainment and USG Audio.
Episodes from the podcast will give fans “a 360-degree view of the One Chicago universe and the creative engine that powers it.” Guests will include cast members, writers, producers, and crew members from all three shows. They will walk viewers into the creative aspects of the show, including storylines, stunts, and more, in long-form interviews that pull back the curtain on the franchise. The cherry on top for fans is that they will get an opportunity to participate in recurring segments. New episodes of the One Chicago Podcast will be released on Thursday, the day after series’ episodes air live on NBC.
