Former The Young and the Restless star Max Ehrich was arrested in Florida on Tuesday. Ehrich is also Demi Lovato‘s ex-fiancé.
The actor was allegedly booked for domestic violence after inflicting harm on an elderly family member. TMZ was first to break the news that Ehrich was in some serious legal trouble.
According to the outlet, Ehrich was arrested for battery of an elderly person, leading to charges involving domestic violence of a family member. TMZ reports that Ehrich was released on $1,000 bond and left jail on Wednesday. People also confirmed the actor’s arrest.
Parade has reached out to Ehrich’s legal representative but has not heard back.
Ehrich’s arrest comes after his Instagram Live earlier this week raised concerns. The actor was reportedly acting erratically on the Live stream while his mother was in the room, leading to law enforcement being called.
It has not been confirmed if his mother is the family member he allegedly assaulted.
For three years, Ehrich played Fenmore Baldwin, the only child of Y&R legacy couple Michael (Christian LeBlanc) and Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman). During his time on the CBS soap, Ehrich earned four Daytime Emmy Nominations for his portrayal of Fenmore.
Most recently, Ehrich appeared on The Bay as Wesley McKinnon, the younger brother of Caleb McKinnon, played by Beyond the Gates star Mike Manning.
In 2020, the actor made headlines when his romance with Lovato went public. After a whirlwind four-month romance, the singer and actor announced their engagement that July.
However, the relationship ended just about as quickly as it began. Ehrich and Lovato called off their engagement in September 2020. Lovato married Jordan “Jutes” Lutes in May.
Ehrich has not addressed his arrest as of the time of this writing.
