Not One, But Several Weddings in Season 6 of “Virgin River”? Showrunner Reveals Further Plans for the Series

While “Virgin River” viewers are eagerly awaiting Jack and Mel’s wedding, wedding bells may also ring for other characters. What did the showrunner reveal?

Season 5B of “Virgin River” was sweet, atmospheric and truly festive, and it also hinted at what will happen in Season 6. Fans are hoping for Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson) to get married, but they may not be the only ones to walk down the aisle. The showrunner revealed what’s next in the plans.

Virgin River season 6 – will Jack and Mel get married?

Series showrunner Patrick Sean Smith addressed the issue of weddings in an interview with Deadline. In the final episodes of Season 5, Jack and Mel are already thinking about wedding plans, the Doctor (Tim Matheson) has asked his beloved Hope (Annette O’Toole) to be his wife again, and Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale) and Denny (Kai Bradbury), who are expecting a child, have also hinted at a wedding. What does the showrunner say?

Can Season 6 of “Virgin River” really show three weddings? Or maybe a fourth will join them, e.g. Brie (Zibby Allan) and Mike (Marco Grazzini), whose relationship is developing at a surprisingly fast pace?

What is known is that Season 6 will focus largely on Jack and Mel’s dream of creating a family. And although they have a dog for now, they still dream of a child, as well as building their own house. Let us recall that in the first part of Season 5, the heroes decided to buy and rebuild Lily’s burned-down farm. Instead of a wedding, can we simply see preparations for a life together? At what stage is this storyline and why wasn’t it in the Christmas episodes?

Here you can read when the premiere of “Virgin River” Season 6 is possible, as well as whether there are plans for another series. You can also find out where the idea for the Christmas episodes came from at this particular moment.
