Netflix Virgin River fans ‘work out’ real father of Lizzie’s baby in season 6 twist
Virgin River fans are convinced that Lizzie’s baby isn’t Denny’s as they think they’ve worked out the real father – and it’s not great news for the new couple
Excitement is brewing among Virgin River buffs as they’re betting on Lizzie (played by Sarah Dugdale) to deliver a seismic storyline twist in the show’s forthcoming sixth outing on Netflix.
Heartthrob duo Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) have kept the world glued to their romantic journey for the past few years.
As the adored quaint drama gears up for a return, the lovebirds will be busy with wedding preparations, while the town gets caught up in a whirlwind of juicy plotlines.
In the mix are Lizzie and her beau Denny (Kai Bradbury), who are expecting a baby in the upcoming episodes.
Even though Lizzie is sold on Denny being the father, buzzing fan theories on Reddit suggest her little one might actually share genes with her former flame, Ricky (Grayson Gurnsey), pointing out that the show’s timing hints at him being the father, reports the Mirror.
Fans backed this up with facts from Robyn Carr’s books where Lizzie indeed has Ricky’s child, stoking speculation about the show’s direction.
Doubling down on the gossip, one fan put forth: “Does anyone else think that Lizzie’s baby is actually Ricky’s? I mean in the books [by Robyn Carr] she’s pregnant with his baby and in the books they are endgame… so who knows?”
Then slamming Denny, they added salt to the wound: “I also cannot stand Denny. He has the personality of a rock.”
Fans are churning the rumor mill over the fate of Virgin River characters, as theories around Lizzie’s potential pregnancy take center stage. One avid viewer exclaimed: “Love all the various opinions. I thought I was the only one that thought Lizzie could be pregnant with Ricky’s baby! I’ve been reading the threads and this is the only one I’ve found!”
They also shared a personal dilemma: “Honestly I’m conflicted. I love Ricky and love his character and thought that Lizzie and Ricky were cute together. But after seeing Lizzie with Denny I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Denny’s revelation of his Huntington’s disease diagnosis has stirred suspicions among fans, who fret about its 50 percent hereditary risk.
One fan insisted: “I also think it’s Ricky’s. “It wouldn’t really be ok to have her get pregnant with a guy who’s going to die and possibly pass on that disease to their baby. Just too sad.”
While another hoped: “I really hope it’s Ricky’s. I can’t stand Denny either. I don’t trust him.”
Yet another countered, doubting the timeline: “It can’t be Ricky’s! He’s been gone way too long.”
The show’s ambiguous timeline, marked by Charmaine’s (Lauren Hammersley) seemingly endless pregnancy, leads to questions: did Lizzie and Ricky find time for conception before his season four exit, or is there a tough road ahead for Lizzie and Denny?
