Netflix Icon’s New Film Crowned ‘Best Christmas Movie This Year’ md14

A “hilarious and adorable” new festive film has shot straight to Netflix’s number-one most-watched spot, with viewers calling it a “10 out of 10” and even dubbing it “Mrs Doubtfire at Christmas.”

Netflix’s holiday lineup already includes favourites like The Holiday and Diane Keaton’s The Family Stone, along with new additions such as Champagne Problems and Jingle Bell Heist. But the title everyone is talking about now is My Secret Santa, starring Virgin River favourite Alexandra Breckenridge.

Breckenridge plays Taylor, a single mum who—after unexpectedly losing her job—goes undercover as an elderly man to work as a ski resort’s Santa. Complications quickly arise when she begins to develop feelings for the resort owner’s son, Matthew Layne, portrayed by New Amsterdam and 90210 star Ryan Eggold.

Fans have flooded X (formerly Twitter) and IMDb with glowing reviews, praising the film’s warmth, humour, and standout performances. One viewer called it the “best Christmas movie this year”, adding: “It’s fresh, well acted… Alexandra was awesome.” Others described it as “hilarious,” “incredible,” and “adorable,” with many promising multiple rewatches.

The film also features Tia Mowry (Sister, Sister, Family Reunion), adding even more star power to the cast.

My Secret Santa is now streaming on Netflix.
