Netflix Confirms VIRGIN RIVER Season 7: Mel & Jack’s Love Journey Is Not Over Yet

Good news, Virgin River is confirmed to come back for Season 7! More love, drama, and small-town charm coming your way. You’re very welcome ❤️

Netflix’s popular romance Virgin River, starring Alexandra Breckinridge as Mel and Martin Henderson as Jack, is renewed for season 7 of filming in British Columbia and becomes the streamer’s longest-running drama series.

Virgin River follows Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), a nurse and midwife who moves to the small California town from Los Angeles after her husband Mark dies. There she falls for restaurant/bar owner and former marine Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) and after a lot of complications the pair get married in season 6, dropping December 19th on the global streamer.

For some series, Mel and Jack’s wedding would be the series finale. But that’s now how showrunner Patrick Sean Smith sees it.

I think we’ve only just begun to see Mel and Jack function as a married couple, which is exciting. [Season 7 will] explore the honeymoon phase for them as they’re building their lives on the farm, which can come with its own obstacles. — showrunner Patrick Sean Smith.to Tudum.

And we don’t need to worry about their relationship unravelling.

I can’t imagine creating a scenario where you think Mel and Jack are going to break up, It forces you to dig a little bit deeper into, well, what other issues can they have in their relationship? Especially when you want to keep it through the romance lens. I think Alex and Martin play all of those [moments so well], it’s just resting on emotional stakes as opposed to will they, won’t they. — showrunner Patrick Sean Smith.to Tudum.

Besides, there are plenty of other relationships to explore in the multiple generations of love stories being told on Virgin River. There’s Hope (Annette O’Toole) and Doc (Tim Matheson), who rekindled their own flame after a few years apart; Preacher (Colin Lawrence) and Kaia (Kandyse McClure), who came together during a major disaster for the community; and Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale) and Denny (Kai Bradbury), who are expecting their first child together. — showrunner Patrick Sean Smith.to Tudum.

How long can the series go? It’s still one of Netflix’s top TV titles..

And season 6, featuring Mel & Jack’s wedding, should perform well this Christmas.
