The official NCIS: Tony & Ziva trailer reveals the return of the fan-favorite couple as they embark on a new adventure. Set to premiere on Paramount+ later this year, the upcoming series will continue the story of Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and Ziva David (Cote de Pablo). The former agents haven’t appeared onscreen together since NCIS season 11 back in 2013, but their relationship has remained beloved among fans. Featuring a largely new cast of characters, NCIS: Tony & Ziva will find them on the run in Europe as they work to keep their daughter Tali (Isla Gie) safe.
Now, Paramount+ has unveiled the full trailer for NCIS: Tony & Ziva. Kicking off with Ziva in therapy, the footage reveals key pieces of information: Namely, an unknown threat has targeted Tali, and the eponymous couple are still working out what they are. It also confirms the show will premiere this fall.

This Is A New Kind Of NCIS
After Tony and Ziva’s respective departures from the NCIS flagship, the former partners found their way back to each other, with Ziva heading to Paris to reunite with Tony and Tali following her miraculous resurrection at the end of season 16. It was confirmed they were co-parenting Tali together, but the state of their personal relationship was left somewhat ambiguous. Though they always had clear tension, the closest they got to true romance was when Ziva left, and they shared a goodbye kiss.
The NCIS: Tony & Ziva cast also includes Amita Suman, Maximilian Osinski, Julian Ovenden, Nassima Benchicou, Lara Rossi, Terence Maynard and James D’Arcy.
Now, it’s clear that NCIS: Tony & Ziva will give viewers a front-row seat to their relationship drama. The trailer shows them getting quite close and flirty, but as Ziva notes, they’re very much “On again, maybe again, kind of again.” In between their romantic woes, though, they have to contend with someone threatening their daughter. The NCIS: Tony & Ziva trailer features plenty of action, from car chases to a hand-to-hand fight with Ziva in what could be a wedding dress. In many ways, the show seems to give Mr. & Mrs. Smith vibes, making it a very different kind of NCIS show.

It’s Everything I Hoped For And More
Just from the first trailer alone, I can tell NCIS: Tony & Ziva is exactly the show I was hoping for. Though this is a major swing for the NCIS franchise, since it’ll be taking a more character-driven approach and stepping away from naval-based crimes, its in-depth exploration of Tony and Ziva’s relationship makes it extra special. Since we didn’t get the chance to see their initial reunion, it’s even more exciting to learn we’ll watch them work out their relationship as the show goes on. This can be a proper relationship study while also being an adrenaline rush, and I cannot wait to see more.
