Michael Weatherly has revealed details about a personal evening he spent with his NCIS: Tony and Ziva co-star while they were filming.
NCIS: Tony and Ziva has been in development for years, and at last, NCIS enthusiasts are receiving what they’ve longed for over ten years since Tony DiNozzo (portrayed by Michael Weatherly) and Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) went their separate ways in the CBS series.
The Paramount+ spinoff will depict Tony and Ziva living in Paris where they raise their daughter Tali (Isla Gie) together, and despite not being romantically involved, there remains chemistry between them. It comes as fans are braced for a huge schedule change when NCIS returns for season 23 in October.

During an interview with TV Insider, it became evident that the connection that Weatherly and de Pablo share extends beyond the screen as Weatherly discussed something deeply personal.
He started by revealing that his father died during production and he had “stayed awake all night” that Thursday.
Weatherly went on: “It’s 8 o’clock in the morning. I’ve slept two hours. I might’ve had a very big bottle of wine the night before.
“Cote came over and gave me a big hug when she found out the night before. I felt very taken care of.”
Contributing to the conversation, de Pablo noted: “He [Weatherly] wasn’t with family. He was abroad. And all of a sudden, he just gets a phone call. So, what do you do? You don’t have your wife, your kids, no sister, nothing.”
It was in August 2024 that Weatherly’s father Manning Weatherly Snr died, a former Second Lieutenant in the US Army who became the top US distributor of the Swiss Army Knife during the 1970s and 1980s.
Taking to X, the actor posted a nostalgic photo of himself with his father, penning: “My father Michael Manning Weatherly passed away last Thursday and he leaves behind many loved ones who will miss him.
