The NCIS universe is expanding once again. CBS has officially confirmed that NCIS: Origins Season 2 will premiere Tuesday, October 14 at 9/8c, joining an all-NCIS Tuesday lineup alongside the flagship series and NCIS: Sydney.
Following a gripping first season that explored the early years of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, most of the core cast is expected to return, including Austin Stowell (young Gibbs), Kyle Schmid (Mike Franks), Tyla Abercrumbie, Diany Rodriguez, and Caleb Foote. However, one key return remains uncertain: Mariel Molino’s Lala Dominguez.
Season 1 ended on a dramatic cliffhanger when Lala was involved in a serious car crash just after clearing Gibbs of suspicion in a murder investigation. Her fate was left unknown — and whether she survived could shape the emotional core of Season 2.
The finale also teased deeper franchise connections with the introduction of a young Diane, one of Gibbs’ future ex-wives. With no trailer released yet and more reveals expected closer to fall, NCIS: Origins Season 2 promises more mystery, emotional stakes, and classic Gibbs grit when it returns this October.
