NCIS: Origins Season Finale Sets Up LA Connection with Lara Macy’s Debut md14

CBS’s NCIS: Origins is heading into its Season 1 finale with a big nod to the NCIS universe, teasing connections that fans of the LA spin-off won’t want to miss.

Titled “Cecilia” (the real first name of Special Agent Lala Dominguez), the episode, airing Monday, April 28, finds Gibbs (Austin Stowell) confronting a long-buried murder case involving Pedro Hernandez.

Arriving at the NIS’ Camp Pendleton office to assist in the investigation is Military Police investigator Lara Macy — the character who, 18 years later in NCIS canon, becomes Special Agent in Charge at the Office of Special Projects in Los Angeles.

SAC Macy was originally introduced in the NCIS backdoor pilot for NCIS: Los Angeles, which aired as the Season 6 two-parter titled “Legend”. Louise Lombard played Macy then, but when NCIS: LA was picked up as a series, the character was replaced by Linda Hunt’s Henrietta “Hetty” Lange.

For the Origins finale, Claire Berger (The Midnight Club) steps into the role of Lara Macy. Her portrayal brings a sharp, ambitious MP investigator with a relentless drive for justice. Macy isn’t afraid to challenge the system, even in a male-dominated environment, as she navigates the moral and procedural complexities surrounding Gibbs and the Hernandez case.

With Lala (Mariel Molino) and retired NCIS agent Mike Franks (Kyle Schmid) working to protect Gibbs, Macy faces tough decisions while establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with in the NCIS universe.

Fans can expect the episode to not only wrap up Season 1’s storylines but also set up a strong tie to NCIS: Los Angeles, linking past and present in a way that bridges the two series.
