NCIS: Origins has finally cast its younger version of fan-favorite Dwayne Pride, confirming that Scott Bakula’s iconic role will now be played by Shea Buckner. The prequel series brings Pride back into the NCIS universe years before NCIS: New Orleans, exploring his early days as a Probationary NIS Agent.
Buckner — known for Only Murders in the Building, The Rookie, and FBI — will debut later in Season 2. His casting follows the show’s ongoing trend of reimagining classic characters, joining Austin Stowell (Young Gibbs), Kyle Schmid (Young Mike Franks), Diany Rodriguez (Young Vera Strickland), Adam Campbell (Young Ducky), and Lucas Dixon (Young Fornell).
Pride’s episode will spotlight him as part of the legendary “Fed Five,” the task force that famously cracked the Privileged Killer case in NCIS Season 11. CBS is still casting the remaining members, McLane and Betts.
New episodes of NCIS: Origins air Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS and stream the next day on Paramount+.
