Eric Christian Olsen, beloved NCIS: Los Angeles alum and co-producer of Matlock, is celebrating a beautiful new beginning — and it comes in the form of an 11-pound, 4-ounce bundle of joy.
He and wife Sarah Wright Olsen, actress and podcast host, welcomed their fourth child, daughter Ocean Rain Olsen, on June 17 at 12:37 a.m., officially expanding their family to six.
“She’s here!! Ocean Rain Olsen… Grateful beyond words for our amazing team that helped us get her here safely during an incredibly complex birth,” Sarah shared on Instagram.
A Name as Poetic as Her Arrival
The couple revealed their daughter’s evocative name in a heartfelt Instagram post featuring intimate moments: Sarah cradling her newborn in a hospital bed, tender embraces between Sarah and Eric during labor, and baby Ocean wrapped in a monogrammed blanket. Actress Nikki Reed, who stayed with the family through the night, captured the emotional moments.
“Photos 2 and 3 by @nikkireed who stayed with us all night to document this day,” Sarah wrote.
Resilience Amid Loss
Ocean’s arrival comes just months after the Olsens lost their longtime Los Angeles home in the devastating January wildfires, which displaced their family of five — including their dogs. Sarah reflected at the time:
“We lost our home… But we are together and safe. Thank you to Uncle Dave and Aunt Dani who took in so many of us.”
“Uncle Dave” and “Aunt Dani” refer to Eric’s brother, stuntman David Paul Olsen, and his wife Daniela Ruah, Eric’s NCIS: LA co-star, who opened their home to support the family during this challenging period.
