Sherri Shepherd is clearing the air following a tense backstage encounter involving NCIS: Los Angeles star Nia Long — and she’s doing it with grace. Speaking candidly on The Breakfast Club podcast, Shepherd confirmed that Long was the actress involved in a previously unnamed confrontation at the Broadway opening of Othello.
According to Shepherd, the interaction stemmed from a misunderstanding, with Long allegedly believing Shepherd had thrown shade. “I don’t have any beef with Nia Long,” Shepherd emphasized, adding that as a comedian, her life experiences naturally become part of her storytelling.
Despite the awkward moment, Shepherd made it clear there’s no lingering resentment. She expressed continued admiration for Long and revealed she has extended an open invitation for the actress to appear on her talk show and talk things through.
