Mark Harmon is more than just the narrator of NCIS: Origins — he’s officially returning to the screen.
The actor and executive producer will reprise his role as Leroy Jethro Gibbs in a special crossover event airing Nov. 11. The storyline bridges past and present, revisiting a 1990s case handled by a young Gibbs (Austin Stowell) that resurfaces decades later.
According to co-showrunners David J. North and Gina Lucita Monreal, the idea was developed with Harmon directly. “They came to me with an idea for Gibbs that I liked,” Harmon said. “It seemed like a good time to check in with him.”
For one night only, CBS will switch the usual order, airing NCIS: Origins at 8 p.m. followed by NCIS at 9 p.m., with streaming available on Paramount+ the next day.
