NCIS: LA Poised to Return With a Brand-New Chapter md14

NCIS: Los Angeles is preparing to close the book on its 14-season run with a two-part finale that balances high-stakes missions with emotional character milestones. After 322 episodes, the CBS drama will come to an end as one of the network’s longest-running scripted series.

The decision to conclude the series was reportedly driven by rising production costs, but showrunner R. Scott Gemmill was given enough notice to design a proper sendoff. As a result, the finale aims to honor both the procedural roots of the show and the personal journeys fans have followed for years.

In part one, the team searches for a missing ATF agent while also tracking down stolen military-grade weapons. At the same time, personal storylines move forward: Callen and Anna continue planning their wedding, Rountree supports his sister as she interviews for medical school, and Sam pushes his father to take an important drug test.

Part two shifts the focus toward closure and reflection, as Callen and Anna opt for an impromptu wedding. The episode is expected to celebrate the series’ history while leaving key characters — especially Callen and Sam — in a hopeful place. Given CBS’ track record with revivals, the finale may not be the franchise’s final goodbye.
