‘NCIS’ Fans Shout “Let’s GO!” as the Show Drops Surprise Season 23 Update

In a turn of events NCIS fans weren’t expecting, it looks like new episodes could be coming sooner than we thought.

Back in February, fans of the hit CBS drama were ecstatic to learn the show got renewed for season 23. While the series has been on hiatus since the season 22 finale aired in May, viewers have been eager to see their favorite federal agents back in action for an all-new installment.

Even though CBS hasn’t officially announced anything about NCIS season 23, one key member of the show’s crew dropped a surprise update. Thanks to behind-the-scenes photos uploaded on Instagram by lighting tech Nicholas Aiello, he revealed that the series is officially in production for an all-new season. And if that’s not enough, the photos make it seem like it won’t be long until the cast officially gets back to set as well.

“Day 1 of NCIS season 23 😁,” he wrote in the caption on July 7.

As soon as NCIS fans noticed Nicholas’ thrilling update about the status of season 23, it caused a frenzy among them on social media.

“Time to get busy!!!” one person shouted in the comments. “🔥 Wohoo! Thanks for being part of the BEST Team Ever. Bring it!” another exclaimed. “Let’s GO!” a different follower added.

Despite there still being some time before NCIS season 23 makes it to the airwaves, this is the best update fans received yet! And let’s not forget — there are other shows in the NCIS universe popping up on TV this year that fans will be thrilled about.

In addition to the original NCIS series, season 2 of NCIS: Origins is slated to air this fall on CBS. And to top it all off, Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo are reuniting for the premiere of their spinoff NCIS: Tony and Ziva, premiering September 4, 2025 on Paramount+.

Needless to say, there is quite a lot to look forward to this fall!
